Let a Striped Fabric do the Work!

Janine Judge created this beautiful scene of Milford Sound, NZ. She kindly gave me permission to show it to you. The entire piece is beautifully done but the part that really struck me was the fabric she used as the basis for the ocean. Muted Stripe! All one piece!

Here you can clearly see the fabric she used for the ocean, and other areas. Notice the contrasting values where the light hits the background. Not all the same values.


Next, we can see the beginning stages of her thread painting.
